Yuyuantan (Jade Lake) Park features a large lake with 61 hectares of water inside its 140 hectares grounds. o­nce belonging to nobility, these gardens were named Yuyuantan in 1960 and have been further enhanced since then.Yuyuantan Park is famous for its cherry blossoms in mid to late April through early May every year. There are about 2000 cherry trees of over 20 different species. Other blossoming trees such as peach are also to be found, as well as tulip flowers.

Yuyuantan park is also a popular place for boating and there is a large fun swimming area open in mid summer. There are also cafes, pavilions, play and exercise areas and the park is a great place to take a relaxing stroll. Yuyuantan park is also host to a seasonal temple fair and exhibitions.
Yuyuantan Park is located just north of Beijing's central axis, to the east of the west 3rd ring road. Nearby places of interest include the China Millennium Monument, which houses various exhibitions, sometimes outdoors, the Military Museum that presents 5,000 years of military history, and the 405 meter tall CCTV Television Tower, with great views from the top, at the west gate of the park. Also, it is possible to take a pleasure boat from the western end of the park to the Summer Palace.

Yuyuantan (Jade Lake) Park Transporation

1.The East Gate is at the east end of Sanlihe Road, next to Diaoyutai Hotel (and Diaoyutai Grand Hotel), West Chang’an Street, take bus 320, 114, 717, 727 to Yuyuantan Stop, or take 13, 21, 37, 65 to Sanlihe West Station, or take the railway to get off at Muxudi, there are not enough parking space in front, so you are suggested to take bus or take a taxt.
2.West Gate: you could take 300, 323, 374 and Special 8 to arrive. You could park your car at the TV Tower.
3.South Gate: take bus 1, 4, and many which pass Chang’an Street, or stop at the Millitary Museum at the Subway. Enter from the north of the Millennium Platform.
4. North Gate: take bus 121, 846 and 37 and stop at Mashen Temple or Baizhuizi Station.
