Situated 300 meters away northeast to the Qianshang Nanquan Nunnery, Qianshang Giant Buddha is a natural enormous stone laughing buddha shaped from a whole mountain which is to the opposite of Nanquan Nunnery – o­ne of the famous antient temple in Qianshang. The statue is of 70m’s height, 46m’s shoulder, with a large head 9.9 meters in height, 11.8 meters in diameter and a pair of 4.8m-long ears. The buddha remains distinct facial features and complete limps, his left hand places o­n left knee naturally with five finger separated; and his right clenched fist presses o­n right leg. The stone buddha sits against east facing north, with rosary dimly hanged before chest and navel formed by natural cave. It’s said that the buddha came to his shape 100,000,000 years ago. Scientists had o­nce digged out alter wares dating back to Qing and Ming Dynasty.
A consecration ceremony was successfully held in 1993. And with the personal inscription “Qianshang Giant Laughing Buddha” of chairman of Chinese Buddhism Associate, the historic Qianshang had undoubtly become the holy land of buddhism of Northeast China.
Best tourist season for Anshan is summer and autumn. Anshan lies at the edge of southeast Songliao Plain. Qianshan Giant Buddha Features

Discovered in 1993, the naturally shaped Qianshang Buddha, it’s said to be comparable to Leshan Giant Buddha o­n terms of its vividly presented visual image. The Qianshang Girant Bddha had bee considered o­ne of the largest natural stone buddha presented in China. Qianshang’s now the candidate of the fifth holy land for domestic buddhism. Qianshang is 90 km away from Taoxian Airport of Shenyang, and 2hour’s ride from seaport of Dalian. The Beijing-Anshan train is also available. Take No.308 bus from Anshan train station to main gate of north Qianshang scenic area. Then you can take No.210 bus to get to Xianrentai scenic spot directly.
